Chef Jojo’s Spicy Rottini with Vegetarian Grounds

SHALLA the Artist

Our, Get Jazzy Talk DirtyMagazine and SHALLA Magazine, are branching out to healthy eating. Since sexy is healthy, Vegas’ top chef, Chef Jojo, will be featuring his latest, super easy creations in our magazines.
Here’s one. I eat this one all the time, keeps my weight closer to 100lbs and tastes real good too. Chef Jojo says, when cooking, you gotta add love to it. Feel the love, enjoy cooking and bon apetit!
Chef Jojo’s Spicy Rottini with Vegetarian Grounds
No salt added!

1 box dry rottini pasta (substitute any pasta)
½ onion, thinly sliced
½ lb veggie ground
¼ lb veggie BBQ pork
1 1/2 tablespoons minced garlic (4 cloves)
1 (26 ounce) jar Ragu spaghetti sauce
1 tbs virgin olive oil
1 spinach bundle
1 cilantro bundle
1 tspn hot sauce

Serves: 4
Prep Time: 15 Minutes
Cook Time: 20 Minutes
Ready In: 35 Minutes
Level: Easy
Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Add rottini pasta, and cook for 9-11 minutes, or according to the directions on the package.
Meanwhile, in another large (12-inch), heavy-bottomed pan, add olive oil over medium heat. Add the garlic and onions. Saute for 1 minute. Be careful, the garlic burns easily! Add the veggie grounds and veggie BBQ pork and saute until the veggie meats have just turned darker brown, about 5 minutes, stirring often. Add spinach and cilantro and the hot sauce and sauté for 1 minute.
SHALLA Magazine
When the pasta is done, drain the cooked rottini and then put it back in the pot. Immediately add the veggie meats and sauce, toss well, and serve.

Breaking News! Johnny Cash may have turned gay in heaven.

Breaking News! Johnny Cash may have turned gay in heaven.

Want A Smoothie Celestial Radio reports spotting Cash at a nearby swingers club singing I Walk The Line while chewing on bananas and papayas.

You decide, here is an artistic rendering of him playing his guitar in paradise.

A girl sold flowers at the entry way to their club and
Miss Holiday bought gardenias from her, from then on, she wore gardenias on her hair.

Billie Holiday (born Eleanora Fagan;[1][2] April 7, 1915 – July 17, 1959)[3] was an African American jazz singer, songwriter, and actress. Nicknamed "Lady Day" by her friend and musical partner Lester Young, Holiday had a seminal influence on jazz and pop singing. Her vocal style, strongly inspired by jazz instrumentalists, pioneered a new way of manipulating phrasing and tempo. (Wikipedia)

Now, Billie Holiday is still beautifully singing the blues, still wearing gardenias, at times biting and chewing on them for sweetness and comfort.

Haunted Paintings--AHHHHH!!! Annie Creamcheese VIP Party

Okay creepy crawlers, I know you're there, but I'm saying NO! This is an official exorcism, written, blogged, published--BAM!

Here’s the scoop. I haven’t slept for days. Why? At least one of my paintings hanging on my bedroom walls is haunted.

(R) Unfinished painting of Frida Kahlo
(L) Unfinished painting of Freddie Mercury

I have been painting dead celebrities (Joan Rivers most recently, God bless her soul), Elvis, Marlon Brando, Elizabeth Taylor, Robin Williams, Lucille Ball, Sid and Nancy etc. etc. furiously for the past month when strange things started happening.

Lights turning on and off by themselves. My stuff disappearing then a few hours later re-appearing. Shrill laughter (a female voice) from another room that's vacant.

At first I just shrugged them off as my imagination or forgetfulness but as I uncovered the heinous, cringe-worthy back story of some of these dead celebrities and how they died, I began to suspect a haunting. But which celebrity is it?

For instance, Sid and Nancy Vicious. I knew nothing about them until famous fashionista, Garrett Bauman, suggested I paint them for his Annie Creamcheese store. Oh, what a sweet punk rock couple, I thought. Edgy, sure, but how romantic of them to always be together, drinking, taking drugs. And as I finished my paintings of them, I began researching more about their lives together. Shocking. I did not see it coming. It turns out, Sid had murdered Nancy. A knife to the stomach and she bled to death. Oh, great. Right now, they’re looking straight at me as I type this, hanging on my bedroom wall.

Robin Williams committed suicide. Hung himself.

And as I go on my twentieth day of hardly sleeping and keeping all the lights on at night—

Weeks ago, when I returned from a trip, I found a couple of paintings stacked upside down in the middle of my room. Who had put them there? Certainly not me. The room was locked, I’m the only one with the key.

A few days ago, when I woke up around 4am, thinking sun’s rising soon so, except for my small night light, I turned off all the lights. Big mistake. Hours later, when I woke up, this paddle board was out from my closet, pointed straight at me.

--I am continuing to paint however. Because painting is my life and these paintings (which one’s haunted?) will be sold at an Annie Creamcheese party where proceeds go to charities.

So, I keep breathing, painting, taking a stand against any creepy crawlers, mouthing, "You're not the boss of me."

Here's the paddleboard that was inside the closet at night and somehow was out by morning

Is this the haunted painting? (unfinished acrylic of Sid and Nancy Vicious)

I won! I won! And the Lowdown on Art Stands

I won! I won! 36-16 Seahawks (football)… I won! I won! $5! Okay, so I’m not a big gambler. But I won $5! That’s like a month’s wage in some countries, isn’t it?

Oh, it’s First Friday at the Art District and I’m recuperating from some sort of cold…awww, but here’s the lowdown on Art Stands:

It’s free to set up an art stand and do caricatures at any public property in Vegas if I’m only asking for donations… no need for a business license or permists, none, zero, nada, nope. So Vegas Strip is good, but must make sure it’s on public walk way and not casino property.

Metro Clark County Zoning Dept (702) 455-4314 ext 2

Freemont Street Experience Leslie is the coordinator 678-5733. I left her a message.

First Friday at the Art District Joey Vanas is the contact at joeyvanas@gmail.com

Stuff to do ASAP Draw caricatures… at least 3

Dress up my easel… bring a light, comfy chair or make one, with a mini table, a sign, business cards, an artist’s wardrobe…cool, just like Van Gogh, Cezanne, Toulouse-Lautrec

Football vs. Art--BAM!

Hmmm... how to set up an art stand... a street caricaturist told me you don't need a license if you're only asking for donations... It would be fun to do it on First Friday...

Oh, but the time pressure, I mean that's tomorrow and I'm still finishing paintings... but I love the challenge... no I don't... yep I do... no... ya.......oooh, it's Thursday night football, the path of least resistance... ahhhhhh....

BTW this is me, Shalla the Artist and on the grapevine, I heard Britney Spears was back at Annie Creamcheese the other day uh-huh. And Mr. Garrett Bauman himself told me he serviced her (gave her one of their fancy hats etc :P

And then I was at Art Night at The Crepe drawing caricatures, here's one I did of Kyle... Alex saw me drawing and asked if I wanted to teach a caricature drawing class... and Agnes suggested I set up an artist stand and do caricatures at their restaurant... cool yo...

Here's my latest Garrett Bauman pics...

Garrett Bauman, Sid and Nancy Vicious--oh my!

Sometimes surprises turn into amazement. Like my friend Garrett. Nice, funny, sweet Garrett Bauman. It turns out he’s a hot celeb. See…

https://www.facebook.com/Anniecreamcheese

Check out his celeb clients… cool-dom…

So when G suggested I paint Sid and Nancy Vicious, I said “sure!” Unfortunately, while sometimes surprises turn into amazement, other times surprises turn into horror…

Last night, after I had already painted Sid and Nancy as a happy punk rock couple from the 70’s, I looked them up on Youtube.  Eeeek! Turns out Sid had stabbed Nancy and she bled to death. Then after Sid’s mom bailed him out of prison, she threw a party for him supplied with heroin which he overdosed on and died.

I couldn’t believe it! My sweet, happy punk rock couple. Then I realized the impact of my painting of Sid and Nancy had just multiplied exponentially.

When it Rains It Pours

In our exciting world of changes, I don't make a big deal of things. For instance, an art gallery (looks like a major one) is asking me to submit my art pieces for their curatorial review. They must have seen my work online and liked them enough to invite me.

Ho-kay, so they would like:
6 to 10 Jpeg images no larger than 1-megabyte (1024 kb) each, 300 dpi
Title, Medium, and Dimensions of the artwork
                Resume/ Curriculum Vitae
                Artist's Statement
Contact Information including Name, Address, Phone Number, E-mail, and Website (optional)

Which images to send... In this case I would go mindless and follow the path of least resistance... let's see... my Eat Me! Collection ie. that's my foodie paintings, need walls so okay then... Done! Next!

BTW: I like Rain... especially tropical rain... or Vegas summer rain when it's 100 degrees, lightning, thunder... have a kitty cat to cuddle with or tickle... or chase around or sing to...

Time to hang my paintings at the Crepe

I wish Agnes (owner of the Crepe) has more time to inform me when and how she likes me to hang my paintings.

Weeks ago, she mentioned I bring my work Thursday night. Many times, I had tried to talk to her, but she was always busy, cooking etc at the restaurant.

Oh, I wish I can read her mind... Okay, let me try... "Agnes, Agnes, calling Agnes... I am tuning to your brain frequency, will you talk to me?"

Agnes: "Oh yes beautiful, how are you?"

Shalla: "I'm good, thanks. Am I to bring my paintings tonight?"

Agnes: "Yes, please do. Sorry, I've been ignoring you. I have a lot of things on my mind. No, I'm not mad at you. I'm mad at me for being overwhelmed with our business, since it's so new...I got old-world tastes since I'm from Europe and businesses seem to be run differently here in America. "

Shalla: "Oh, right. We'll talk. I'll come by then."

xoxo... Hmmm... now I wonder if my roommate, Luke, will help me hang paintings... "Luke, Luke, calling Luke... I am tuning to your brain frequency..."

3 Days Before Art Show at the Crepe

Today I found out Jojo asked his kids to come to my art show this Friday. Great, I would have at least 2 people coming. I truly am grateful, I just don't want to be there by myself, alone. Crickets.

Yes, I am still finishing up 8 paintings... whatever happens happens... Doreen Virtue (the Angel Lady ie. she writes books on angelic messages) posted on Facebook: Pray and stop working to make things happen. Okay, so today I'll just pray. 3 more days... oh well... amen.

She Walks in Beauty

I just woke from a 4 hour nap and now I'm ready to paint again.

I thought of my inspirations... beauty, me, Jojo, life, pets, love...romance, intimacy... and I remembered a favorite poem, one I always thought was sexy because it was sooo romantic...
By Lord Byron (George Gordon) 1788–1824 Lord Byron (George Gordon)
She walks in beauty, like the night
   Of cloudless climes and starry skies;
And all that’s best of dark and bright
   Meet in her aspect and her eyes;
Thus mellowed to that tender light
Which heaven to gaudy day denies.

One shade the more, one ray the less,
Had half impaired the nameless grace
Which waves in every raven tress,
   Or softly lightens o’er her face;
Where thoughts serenely sweet express,
How pure, how dear their dwelling-place.

And on that cheek, and o’er that brow,
So soft, so calm, yet eloquent,
The smiles that win, the tints that glow,
But tell of days in goodness spent,
A mind at peace with all below,
A heart whose love is innocent!

Oh, and did you know I'm painting Jojo?
